Bethany Announces New Church Center!

Bethany Church is excited to announce our new online platform that will help us improve our database, online giving, children's check-in and more! Through Church Center, we will have the opportunity to connect our congregation, support our mission, and share important information, all of which will be as close as your cell phone or website. We hope you will join us in these exciting new changes at Bethany Church!

Below are step-by-step directions on how to access all the new Church Center App, new Giving platform, as well as participating in the Church Directory. We hope you'll find these directions helpful, however, if you need any assistance, we are here to help.

Downloading the Church Center App

The Church Center App for Bethany Church is the launching point for many exciting opportunities. As we move into 2025, this will allow you easy access to giving, children's check in, our Next Step Card, and in the future, notifications and event registration. We suggest you start here by downloading the app or if you would prefer to use a webpage, you can visit https://bethanylb.churchcenter.com/home.

Download the Church Center App

Visit the app store on your phone or smart device.
Search for Church Center App or click Church Center to go directly to our church’s app.
Click Get Started
Find our church by clicking Continue.
You can search for Bethany Church Long Beach. Or you can allow the app to use your location and Bethany Church should show up as one of the options.
Click on our logo & name.
Verify Bethany Church at 2250 Clark Avenue, Long Beach & click Log In
Use your cell phone number to log in. (You can also use your email but phone number is easiest.)
It will send you a one-time 6-digit code; use them on the log in page and click Next
The app may show you a profile that matches your information; click the one that is you.
You can choose to enable Face ID or skip it.
Then you will have arrived at Bethany’s Church Page. You’ll see a picture of our church at the top of the app.
Once in the app, you can click on the circle in the top right corner to be able to change your contact, profile, and household information.

Setting up Recurring Giving in Church Center

If you have been giving regularly to support the ministry of Bethany Church, Thank you! Your ongoing, faithful giving enables us to continue to share the Gospel in our community and around the world! As we transition from an older online giving platform to a new one, we want to help make the transition as easy as possible for you. If you have set up automatic recurring online giving, we ask that you do two things: 1) disable your current giving, and 2) set up a new giving schedule in Church Center. If you have not considered automatic recurring giving, now would be a great opportunity to check it out and prayerfully consider how you might begin giving or continue giving but doing so by scheduling it on a regular basis. You can just start with step 2 below. We look forward to all online donors completing the transition to Church Center by the end of December. Starting in January, all donations from 2024 and beyond will show up in your Church Center account, no matter how you give, whether in-person, online, or text-to-give. The new text-to-give number is 84321

1) Disable Old Recurring Giving Schedules

Visit bethanylb.org/giving
Click the second button Sign in to Stop Old Giving.
Click top right tab Sign In.
Enter your email or phone number; you will be prompted to use a code texted to your phone or a password for your email.
Once logged in on a desktop, click the middle tab Scheduled which can be found above My Donation. (On a cell phone/smart device, the tab for Scheduled will be found in the three horizontal lines menu on the top left of the screen.)
You will see your next scheduled donation. Click Delete.
It will ask Are you sure you want to stop this set of recurring payments?
Click Stop This Payment.
It should now show No Gifts or Payments Currently Scheduled.

2) Set Up New Giving Recurrence

Visit bethanylb.org/giving.
Click the first button Start New Giving with Church Center.
Click the Log In Tab at the top right of the page.
Enter your phone number to log in; you will be prompted to use a code texted to your phone.
Once logged in you can create a recurring giving schedule by deciding on the following:
How much to give each time: fill in the $ amount in the first box.
Which Fund: Regular offering goes to our General Fund. However, you can also choose another fund, above and beyond your tithe, to which you can contribute regularly, like “Missions” or “Benevolence”. To do so, click +Add Donation.
How Often: This gives the option to give “One Time” or “Regularly.” When you choose Regularly, you will have the option to have an offering given weekly, every other week, monthly, or twice a month. Then choose the date in the future you want this to start; it cannot be today.
Payment Method: Click Add a payment method. A screen will pop up that has two boxes on top: Card or US Bank Account. Choose which you want your donations to be paid from and enter the details. Then click Add payment method.
Underneath Select Payment Method there will be a check box, giving you the option to cover the costs of the processing fee. If left unchecked, Bethany Church has to pay the credit card usage fees for every transaction. Paying by ACH versus credit/debit is preferred to reduce the amount of fees coming out of your donation.
Finally, click the blue button that says Start Giving.
You can always log in again to change your giving amount or schedule, whenever needed.

You can also Text-To-Give a dollar amount to 84321. After a first-time set up, this will link directly to your Church Center profile so that all of your donations, whether in-person, via recurring scheduled giving, or via text, will be logged into your account.

Joining the Church Center Directory

Something we are very excited about is the new Church Center Directory. This allows you to upload your family's information and your favorite selfies so that you can be found by other Bethany Church attendees. You have the ability to share as little or as much information as you'd like with other participants in our church. Others will be able to contact you by sending a message through the app directly to your email address, but your email address won't be visible. This is a great way to help us connect as the family of God at Bethany Church.

Join the Church Center App Bethany Directory

Open the email from Laurie O’Toole, Bethany Church (Check your junk mail).
Click the Join Directory Button.
Add your cell phone number to log in.
Add the 6 digit code sent to your phone.
Log in.
At the top it will say you haven’t shared your information yet. Click the Share it Now link.
Under My Information at top, click the Edit My Info link, which will allow you to upload a photo and correct any information that is missing or incorrect. Save and go back to the
Click Share Profile Photo
Click what information you want to share with other members of the directory.
Upload a family picture under the Household Photo in blue sphere
Click on the other members of your household and their information to share in the directory.
Click Share it now
