Ladies, Read Through The Bible With Us in 2025!

Ladies, I am excited to share with you what has helped me (and many other Bethany Women) read through the Bible this past year!

It’s The Bible Recap reading program, a chronological study Genesis through Revelation. We read a few chapters each day and listen/watch/read a recap by Tara Leigh Cobble each day. There have been about 25 of us who started together in January 2024! I invite you to prayerfully consider joining me in 2025 as we go through it again!

There are a number of ways to participate in the Bible Recap Reading Plan. Here’s how I do the plan each/most days: Audio Bible & Podcast. I have the Bible App downloaded on my phone. Within that app, I have subscribed to the Bible Recap Plan (you can find that by going to Plans and searching “Bible Recap;” there are two, choose the first one rather than just the New Testament.) Each day of the year has a specified group of chapters and I actually listen to those chapters each morning on my walk. Then once I have read/heard the scripture for the day, I return to the devotional tab and watch the same day’s Bible Recap Video. All in all, it takes me about 20 minutes each morning to listen to the bible passages and the Recap podcast.

However, there are other ways to participate as well including:

• Bible & Podcast/YouTube: You can download a paper copy of the daily readings to read from your own Bible (I have attached that here and am happy to print it for you if you want) and then you can listen to the podcast or watch the daily video on YouTube (You can subscribe to her channel so the daily video pops us each day: https://www.youtube.com/@TheBibleRecap )
• Bible & Book: You can purchase her book “The Bible Recap” (see below) and open the book to a daily reading, use your Bible to read the assigned chapters, and then read her recap right there in the book. In fact, I have one of these Bible Recap books in my office. I would love for someone to have them who would use it. Let me know if you’d like to buy it; I paid  just about $17.

How to get ready to read: So here’s where the founder of The Bible Recap, Tara Leigh Cobble, suggests you start on the START page of the website: https://www.thebiblerecap.com/start She does suggest those starting the program in January watch a few short videos that give context and explanation to the program; my suggestion is to watch a couple at a time between now and January 1. Then we can start together on January 1 reading in Genesis and hearing her recap. I would love for us to share our own God Shots with each other! (She ends each recap with what she learned about God through that scripture reading… hence the “God Shot”.)

This may seem complicated because there are loads of options… but don’t be afraid or discouraged… IT’S NOT DIFFICULT! It’s super encouraging and reading it together will be a huge benefit! There is absolutely NO COST TO THIS unless you choose to buy her book. There are, of course, in-content options to purchase other things related to this… but the daily readings and recaps are free!

 Here's a question you may be thinking and afraid to ask: WHAT IF I MISS A DAY or WEEK?!?  Yeah… I know! It happens. In fact, I am currently 5 days behind… but I’m working on catching up on the weekends. So if you are a day or so behind, feel free to catch up at lunch or some other time. But if you feel overwhelmed, then just read whatever TODAY’s reading is and stay caught up that way. : ) There is grace and we’ll learn together. But by keeping caught up to today, we can keep in contact with each other, as well. And God’s Word NEVER returns void… wherever you are reading!
